Veronica and the "Hunger Games" Book

I read The Hunger Games this weekend for the first time. It was so good! It's kind of like a futuristic, teen version of Gladiator. It's really fast and easy to read too. If you are looking for an amazing new book to read, I highly recommend this one! It also has a sequel, Catching Fire, which I am reading right now. The third book comes out this summer.

Bread Machine!

So I got a sweet bread machine for Christmas, but since we were in Boston for the holidays, we had to ship it all the way across the country to get it home.

Well, FINALLY we got it in the mail today. Woo hoo, I get to play with my present! What to make first? I have roll dough going right now... and then some cinnamon bread right after. Maybe pizza dough for tomorrow... I am going to wear this puppy out! There goes the diet, we're going to have way too many carbs lying around :)

Mariah Learns "Ring around the Rosie"

Mariah just learned "Ring around the Rosie today". We just got the song idea from visiting our neighbor friend Kim and her little girl Kate. You have to be careful or she'll fall down before you're done with the song! Enjoy.

I Started a Genealogy Blog

So over the past couple days I reopened my curiosity for family history. I recently met a cousin of mine, Stacey, and she gave me a TON of new information. Stacey (from Ohio where my family is from) is an avid genealogist herself. She gave me a bunch of information for my mother's mother's side (the Thomas family).

Applying my New Years Resolution: Spiritual 4x4 Plan

I am taking my resolution seriously! I really need to start getting on track with my spirituality. So to aid in my spiritual voyage, I will reinstate a little plan that we used a few years back at church. When Brian and I were members of our BYU married student ward, the bishop gave us a plan to follow called the "4x4 Plan," comprising of 4 things we should be accomplishing weekly and monthly:

Sister Update #3

I just wanted to update you on Tanya's situation. She wanted to thank everyone for their prayers during this difficult time. Thank you to all those who helped them have a great Christmas!

Things are looking up for them.

Resolutions

Happy New Year! I'm sure this post will be just a little cliched but as it's New Year's Day, I thought I was due for a little reflection on this past year. I wanted to evaluate how well I did on last year's resolutions and make new ones for the year.

Christmas 2009

This year we spent Christmas at Brian's parents' new home in Boston. It was so fun but oh so cold!

Happy 3rd Anniversary!

We have had such a hard time doing something special whenever December 30th comes around because it is right in the middle of the holidays. But we actually celebrated our anniversary this year! Let me tell you a little of what we did to commemorate our 3rd year of marriage.
