Merry Christmas 2009

I wanted to take a minute to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

Since members of my family were having such a hard time right now, we decided to forgo sending out Christmas cards this year. Instead, we spent the money we would have used on postage on a worthier cause. And we are sending you a Christmas blog post instead!

The Many Faces of Brian

Not many readers knew that Brian observed Mo-vember this year. If you are unfamiliar with the term, it means that one grows a mustache without shaving for the ENTIRE month of November to supposedly raise awareness for prostate cancer (or just for fun). So during the past few weeks, Brian has been growing out handlebars for the cause, getting more ... burly ... as the weeks progressed. But as the amount of residual food getting stuck in his hair increased (and as the kisses from me decreased), we decided that the 'stache had worn out its welcome. We needed our marriage back :)

So here are some rare photos of Brian saying goodbye to the 'stache in a 6-step manner.

Miller 2nd Annual Fondue Party

A few weeks ago we held the Miller 2nd Annual Fondue Party. We had so many people (50+)! It was lots of fun with lots of good food. We served 2 cheese fondues (Swiss-mushroom and cheddar) and 2 dessert fondues (chocolate and caramel). It got us in the holiday mood!

Yeah yeah

I know, I KNOW. I have a lot to blog about: ward Christmas party, our 2nd annual fondue party, our power going out, Brian's various hair cuts, my sister's situation, and more. Not to mention, we are going to Boston for Christmas in THREE DAYS. I can't find our card reader, ergo no pictures. But I will update as soon as I have proof that any of this happened. 

Tooth Update #3: Bottom Braces

One word: OUCH

Yesterday I got brackets and a wire on my bottom teeth. Talk about pain! Everyone always talks about how painful braces are, it's true! It's not just pain in the gums, it is a very real pain radiating from your teeth. I can't put any pressure on my teeth or I feel like I'm chewing glass. I'm open to suggestions for lessening the pain.

My Sister's Update

So I normally wouldn't do this, but I know they are at the end of their options. I have no choice but to ask that the spirit of Christmas touch the hearts of whomever reads this post so that we can help someone in great need this holiday season.

Tooth Update #2 Tooth Extractions

For the sake of blogging, I documented my experiences with tooth extractions yesterday. I removed all of my first premorlars (the ones on the outside of my canine teeth) to make room for my teeth to move with braces
