Brian wants to bleach his hair

An unknown fact: in the late 1990s, early 2000s, Brian took part in the high school fad of bleaching his hair white. Lately, he has had the desire to resurrect said hairstyle on the grounds that it's summertime again and he thinks he looks good.

Navajo Tacos and Elephant Ears

Can I just say that I LOVE my bread machine! Today I made Navajo tacos (thanks for the inspiration Colette!) and elephant ears, so good! Here are the recipe for both. Enjoy!

Happenings

It's been a while since I've posted anything. So here's a recap of what we have been up to lately.

Last weekend we went to Disneyland (yes, again!) with our college friend Jeff and ward friends Brandon and Tanya. While there we saw the revival movie "Captain EO," featuring Michael Jackson from the 80s. It was pretty awesome. If you are in the area, I highly recommend this! It's in the theatre next to Space Mountain.

Product of the week: Crock Pot Bags

I don't know if anyone else has discovered these yet, but Laisa told me about them over Christmas. I just used a bag for the first time today. THEY ARE AMAZING!

I use something similar when I cook turkeys at Thanksgiving (makes them super juicy and cooks them in half the time as normal roasting).

Thank goodness some one thought of making a liner for crock pots! This little bag saves me days of soaking that silly crock pot.

Ah, one less worry in my life.

New "About Us" Page

Cool. I just discovered that Blogspot can add pages now. So I made a rough draft of an "About Us" page. check it out. What other pages should I add??

"Alice in Wonderland"

I LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS MOVIE! It was incredible, and it was my first 3D movie. I can't stop thinking about it. And I'm very hit-and-miss with Tim Burton. But wow, he did such a fantastic job!

Mariah and the Americana Kids Club

Yesterday I went to the Americana mall with Lisa and we brought our tots to Kids Club! It was cool out door concert where all the kids could bang on drums or tamborines. It was really fun (but too windy, that crazy El Nino!), Mariah's first concert!

Weekend fun with the Fam

This weekend we had some visitors! Brian's parents Claude and Marlena flew in from Boston and Christie from Utah. We had a full house!

The "No Cussing" Club

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to sign a petition for "Cuss-Free Week," a campaign that a youth in our church ward, McKay Hatch, has pushed for with the big guys in the California State Senate. So far it has passed for South Pasadena and LA County. Though it wasn't voted in this week, next year he will push for it to become a state-wide and hopefully a national event.

As I was flipping through channels, I saw him on The Early Show today! Check out the video here. And check out his No Cussing Club website.

Can I just say that I am so impressed with this guy! He started this club 2 years ago when he was only 14. He is definitely going places; people, remember his name!
