Our Weekend at Griffith Observatory

This weekend we went to Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles with some friends from dental school. What a cool place! It's free to visit and park there (though it was extremely difficult to find, don't listen to Google Maps, grrr). Apparently they have just finished renovating it and have put in a ton of new exhibits. We saw a fantastic video of all they did to restore the place (appropriately narrarated by Leonard Nimoy, the actor who originally played Spock.

It was so beautiful up in the hills, it's so close to the Hollywood sign. I defintely recommend this place. It would be fun to go back at night so we could look through the large telescope (also free!).

Mariah has been doing these things for a while but I finally captured them on film. Here she is showing off her speaking and signing skills.

I'm a proud parent.

Board Game Recommendation: "Pandemic"

Over Christmas break, we started playing the game called "Pandemic". This game is AWESOME! And now that we're hooked, we thought we would pass it along to you and infect the world! How to play: you are specialists for the CDC and you have to save the world from being infected from diseases before a world-wide pandemic outbreak occurs.

Piano VS Cruise

We were bored today and Brian was in the mood to spend some money (I LOVE that mood!), so we decided to browse around Costco. We were this close to buying their digital piano. We even had it in the cart and were waiting in the checkout line (no simple feat, mind you).

Tooth Update #4: All My Braces Finally On

Sorry I haven't blogged in a few days, Mariah and I have been fighting off a little cold (no, not swine flu!) since last weekend. But now that I'm feeling better, I wanted to tell you about the newest orthodontic update.

Another Book Recommendation, "Dear John"

As the movie is coming out pretty soon, I decided to read Dear John by Nicholas Sparks over Christmas break. And then I just let my friend Kate borrow it, and thought others would like to know how it was. It was really good but bitter sweet! I am so excited for the movie in a few weeks (I really like books to movies, hence my reading The Lovely Bones, coming out this weekend, and My Sister's Keeper, that came out this past summer, both very good books.

A "Pimp My Ride" Car?

Yesterday Brian and I went to the Mall and parked next to the most interesting car, a Kia van with movie film strip decals on the hood. Each chair was equipped with its own movie screen. And inside the car in the back trunk area were a built-in popcorn and soda machine. Could this car have been featured on some "Pimp My Ride" show??

P90X: Day One

So Brian and I just finished Day 1 of 2010 P90X Challenge! Brian is doing the Original version, while I am doing the lean version. Our original plan was to wake up at 6:00, Brian work out and then I work out right after at 7:30 but we had a bit of a set back today. Not only did we wake up late, but we also weren't as prepared with the videos as we would have liked to be. Since we have an Apple TV, we usually have our videos synced, but since we had just upgraded it's storage space (2 TB!!), the videos weren't on it yet.

We can pribably even fit everyone we go with judt in our tent! Brian wants to go every month now :) I feel a new family tradition coming along!

Brian and Veronica and P90X Again?

Brian and I are going to be starting P90X (again) tomorrow. I am a little nervous! I know I tried to start just recently, but I am hoping that we can encourage each other into going to 90 days and not quitting.

It's going to be intense!
