Snow Suit Part 2

Just another photo shoot in her snow suit. I have such a cute and photogenic baby! And yes, she's still eating the sides of the suit closest to her mouth. She can't get enough of it!

Cute Outfits

I didn't really know what to call this post besides cute outfits because there's no real story to it. I just wanted to post some pictures of Mariah in her fancier outfits. This last picture shows Mariah on Bear Bear, my white (well, used to be) teddy bear that I've had since I was a little girl. I guess it's being passed down!

Tummy Time!

Ah, tummy time, an activity both loved and hated at the same time. Mariah doesn't mind it for the first 5 minutes or so in the beginning because it's easy. But then her poor neck and back muscles get tired and she starts to droop and cry. But she's getting so much better at it than she used to be. Now she can do it for about 10 minutes before she cries instead of only 1 or 2. She really likes being put in front the TV for it, which I do sometimes so she'll stay up longer. She's getting so strong!

We're accepted at USC!

Today we got a letter in the mail informing us that we are accepted into the dental school class of 2013 at the University of Southern California! Yay! We have been hoping and praying that we would get accepted somewhere and it has now happened. So unless Brian flunks out of dental school all of a sudden, he is going to be a dentist!

So what's next? Now is when we start looking into how to pay for it all. We are seriously thinking about getting a military scholarship (probably the Navy) in which they pay for all of school (about $25,000 a TERM) and give us a living stipend ($2000 a month) plus a possible signing bonus of $20,000. In return we will give them 4 years of service and 3 years of reserves after we finish school. It seems like a pretty good deal, that or be in the debt of about $500,000 after dental school and be paying that off for the next 25 years of our lives. Which would you choose??

We will keep you informed on this.

Floor Playtime

Mariah is doing a little floor time with mommy! She's getting so big, it's crazy how fast she's growing and developing. We really need to get her an activity mat so she can have more fun when I'm busy doing stuff around the house.

Mariah's Church Blessing

Mariah was blessed at church (similar to christening) the Sunday after Thanksgiving when there was still some family in town. It was such a cool experience, and Brian did a really good job. Afterward, all our family left and we were left with an empty nest again. But it was good because we needed to catch up on some sleep.

Thanksgiving 2008

Thanksgiving 2008 was a wonderful event! Both sides of our family came to Utah to be with us. Our dinner fed about 20 people total. We were well prepared: 2-23 lb turkeys, 12 pies, 6 lbs of corn, 6 dozen rolls, and about 5 lb of mashed potatoes! It was truly a feast and we were eating leftovers for days. And it was really fun hosting. Thanks for all those that came and helped make our Thanksgiving the best in years. It was so great seeing everyone (though crazy at times). We missed those that could not make it and we hope you'll be able to come next year ( to Pie's house??)!

Oh and Happy Birthday Pie, we're glad we got to celebrate your golden birthday with you. I'm sure you don't like having your birthday fall on Thanksgiving, but we sure do! The ice cream cake was delicious.
