I have such a hard time finding someone who can handle my hair in all its curly splendor, which is why I wore it straight for so long. But I can only fight nature for so long. Plus add a toddler. And then California's humidity. And you're looking at NO time for cute hair. But it's time to face the facts. I have curly hair.
So I read some online reviews and found Lora Johnson in La Verne, CA (30 min east of Pasadena) who specializes in curly hair. I went into her salon and she told me things about my face and hair that I never knew before, like my face shape how to get better curls, and even some product ideas. She really knows her stuff.
She cut my hair to fit my heart-shaped face also toned down my highlights because she said they were too brassy. I actually got it cut last Saturday but I had to go back in today to get it thinned out because I have so much hair! I have been looking like Darth Vader all week. I literally lost a small child in hair today when she thinned it out.
But I like my new look. Shorter hair is great when you have a baby who loves to use hair as handle bars. And it's faster to do. What do you think?

Your new do looks great! I need to find someone that specializes in curly hair out here in Florida - I definitely never have time to straighten it anymore now that I have a 3 month old on my hands.
