As the movie is coming out pretty soon, I decided to read Dear John by Nicholas Sparks over Christmas break. And then I just let my friend Kate borrow it, and thought others would like to know how it was. It was really good but bitter sweet! I am so excited for the movie in a few weeks (I really like books to movies, hence my reading The Lovely Bones, coming out this weekend, and My Sister's Keeper, that came out this past summer, both very good books.
I am currently reading The Host (again!) and The Lightning Thief, which I'll finish on our road trip to Nor-Cal this weekend. On the roster: The Book Thief, the Underland Chronicles, City of Bones, and Dandelion Wine (for book club). Does anyone else have any other book recommendations?

I always have book recommendations. :) The Lovely Bones is on my to-read list too, but I'm scared I'll be scared so...it'll have to be with Ryan very close by. I liked City of Bones, but I think the further books in the series have homosexuality, so I stopped at one.
Ok, sorry. Book ideas:
Goose Girl, by Shannon Hale
Sorcery and Cecilia if you can handle a bit of fantasy, by Patricia Wrede
For great historical fiction, At The Sign of the Sugared Plum, by Mary Hooper - she writes very well.
And from the sound of what you like, I'd bet you'd enjoy Girl in the Arena, by Lise Haines, although I didn't like it so much - I guess I expected more from it.
Wish you lived closer - you could just come peruse my 'library'.
:)
Oh! And I have a book blog if you want more ideas.

i am jealous you have so much extra time to read!
Our book club picked Nicholas Sparks this month. Instead of picking a specific book, we just said pick any book by him. I chose The Gaurdian. Two others had chosen Dear John so I didn't but I really wanted too so I think I'll just go get it :-) We are also going to read The Summoning by Kelly Armstrong, it's a YA title. Try Molokai' by Alan Brenert. It's a book based on the Leper Colonies in Hawaii but it's fiction. Heard it was great and it's on our book club list too.
The Book Thief is one of the best books I've ever read- hope you enjoy it!
Thank you soooooooo much for letting me borrow it!! Sooooooo good :) I ain't got no book recommendations, I come to YOU for my book needs now!
