Today I got my braces adjusted. They have moved from the easy-peasy lightweight wire to the hardcore rectangular, thicker wire. I don't know how many of you readers have had braces, but if you have not yet experienced this level of pain, you have not lived!
Luckily, today my orthodontist gave me an incentive to continue on with the treatment and not just rip out all my teeth. He let me have some of my pictures!
Here are a few progress pictures of my teeth so far:

My teeth pre-braces. So jacked up!

After four teeth were extracted. Sexy.

Teeth starting to align. The extra wires are for helping to rotate and properly space the teeth.

My teeth as of last month. The crazy teeth have rotated. Now working on closing gaps and aligning the arch.
Though they have come a long way, there is still a good amount of adjusting to do. I have had my braces on for about a year and a half. Optimistically, I have another year.
Torture for vanity's sake, yay!

I forget you even have them! You're going to have THE most beautiful smile ever (not that you didn't before :) Can't believe the progress in just a year and a half!
I had braces for 5 years, rubber bands, headgear, the whole bit. Every single time I got my braces tightened I wanted to CRY for at least 24 hours. It is so very painful, so I can truly understand how you're feeling. But the torture is TOTALLY worth it! By the way, I had to have 7 teeth extracted - 2 of them were adult teeth that hadn't come in yet, so they had to dig them out of my gums. :( Vanity does come at a high price sometimes.
