On the first full day of our trip, we went with my sister Tina to the Salem Riverfront Carousel. It was so fun.
Here is Tina, Kiarra, and their new addition, Deondre (2 months)
We are already on the lookout for all things Kylie!
This carousel is pretty awesome. Each horse was carved custom and has its own name. And the carousel can be changed from indoors to outdoors, depending on the weather.
Mariah really liked the horses (she kept calling it Disneyland).
This ticket booth was pretty cool (minus the creepy lady inside).
Dre's first ride!
I think he liked it.
Mariah's second time around on the carousel.
Kiarra loves it too!
After the carousel, we went outside to burn off some steam.
And eat a quick meal. Dre was so good the whole time.
Then we headed to my hometown, Independence, population just under 7,000 people (according to the sign anyway). There's not a whole lot here. The highlight is Mendi's Pizza!
My mom and me
My sister Monica and my mom.
I had to twist a few arms but I got everyone to go to my favorite high school lunch spot, Yang's Teriyaki. SOOO good. And super cheap.
I scarfed all this down and didn't even think twice!
