Here are some of the books I have been reading recently. They are completely random and don't necessarily relate to each other. I just read whatever I feel like at the moment.
1. Artemis Fowl series
This is book 3 in the series. The series features a genius boy who schemes up ways to exploit and get rich in not-so-legal ways. The fairy world is a high-tech version of what we think of them as. It is a very interesting and entertaining series, fast reads.
2. Something Borrowed
I read this because I knew it was turned into a movie. Seeing as it's based around infidelity (and leans on the more explicit side), I wouldn't necessarily recommend this for everyone. It's definitely a chick book.
3. The Book Thief
LOVE this book! This was my second time reading this (first time for fun, this time for Book Club). The story revolves around a girl growing up in Nazi Poland. Very touching, very beautifully written. And told from the perspective of Death. Intrigued yet??
4. If I Stay
This story is a shorter one. A girl in a car accident is stuck in between life and death and has the choice to stay on Earth or to move on. Very emotional!
5. Before I Fall
This is definitely more of a teen book, the best way to describe it is Mean Girls combined with Ground Hog Day. I can see this as a teeny movie.
6. Remember Me?
This is my first Sophie Kinsella book (author of Confessions of a Shopaholic). This story is about a girl who wakes up in the hospital and has forgotten 3 years of her life. Suddenly she's married, successful, but a lot of people hate her. She has to figure out why she changed and how to reconcile her memories.
7. The Guernsey Literary and Potatoe Peel Pie Society
This book is charming, telling about the lives and trials of a group of people on the occupied British island of Guernsey during WWII. The coolest aspect of the book: it's told entirely in letters! Why don't people write letters anymore? It's a lost art :(
8. Vampire Diaries series
These are purely indulgent books to read. Not a lot of substance, but they fill the void that Twilight and Harry Potter have left in my soul. I like the Stefan's Diaries spin-off because they tell the story of the Salvatore brothers when they are first changed into vampires (in the Civil War era).
I'm always up for new suggestions for books. What are you reading? Find me on GoodReads.com too!

Snap, the only book I've also read is the Book Thief - how was the discussion by the way? Sad I missed it! What's the next book?
