Sorry for the 2 week hiatus from blogging. My iPhone blog app has frozen on me and deleted this post TWO TIMES! I was frustrated so it took me a while to retype it. I finally realized i should back it up just in case. Third time's a charm!
In September 2010, when i found out I was pregnant again, I downloaded this app called BabyBump. The app tracks all things related to your pregnancy: weight gain, doctor visits, symptoms, etc. It also has a forum section! I joined one forum for all moms whose babies would be born in September 2011. After a while of talking on this forum, a few of us decided to start a group on Facebook so we could share photos and make it more personable.
Flash forward to now, almost a year later, and I am still a member of this group, which, thanks to one of our British moms, is affectionately called "The Yummy Mummies of Sept 2011". We have 120 members from around the world: Australia, Germany, Ukraine, Enland, Canada, and America of course. Ages range from 20-40s. Moms have 1-7 children. We have two sets of twins. Some moms lost their babies earlier in their pregnancy and left the group (we used to have more like 135 members). There were a few premature births. The earliest term babies were born in early August and our last baby was born in mid to late October. One mom almost lost her life during childbirth! Some are military wives, some are students. Some have careers and are returning to work, some will now stay at home. Now that all the babies are born, we are about equally split, boys vs girls. There are lots of different religions, I'm the only Mormon :)
Well after talking to these moms online for almost a year, we thought we should finally meet up in person!
We tried to find a centrally located spot to meet: The Rainforest Cafe at Downtown Disney. when I got there I had a hard time finding my table and then I asked the front desk about a table with a bunch of babies and they knew exactly which one I was talking about!
I was the only one there with 2 kids! Mariah was the only toddler. She was a little put off that we were AT Disneyland but not IN Disneyland. Thankfully this restaurant looked pretty cool inside. They had monkeys in trees and a thunderstorm every hour.
It was so fun meeting them in real life! In this group, there are 3 girls, 2 boys. The girls are significantly smaller than the boys :)
We agreed that we should meet up again at the beach when they are older and also for their birthday week. It will be so fun watching all these babies grow up :)
